There is a perpetual tug-of-war on the ice.
On one hand – quite literally– the gritty ice angler demands hand wear that delivers the obvious: warm fingers. On the other hand, the same winter warrior wants a glove with dexterity, custom fitted to the natural curvature of the human hand and with the ability to transmit the smack of a walleye and firmly grip the handles of a power auger. Then of course there are “wish list” features like breathability and being 100% waterproof and windproof. As if on cue, Frabill® considered all of these wants and needs and rendered a solution, and it goes by the name Frabill All Purpose Task Glove.
Yet again, Frabill called on the ergonomic mastery of apparel engineer Chris Leonard, most famous for championing FXE Snosuit,® the pinnacle of ice fishing outerwear. As is his style, Leonard polled great ice fishing minds like Brian “Bro” Brosdahl, Tony Roach, Canada’s very own Jeff “Gussy” Gustafson, and other Pro Staff to engineer the Frabill All Purpose Task Glove. And if polling is indicative of the election results, it’s a landslide – Frabill is reelected as the first family of ice fishing.
“Chris nailed it,” said Frabill Pro Staff and professional guide Tony Roach. “There are piles of ice fishing gloves on the market. All of them claim to be waterproof and breathable. That’s all fine and great, but even if they do keep you warm and dry, which most don’t, they’re like wearing clunky boxing gloves. There’s no feel. That’s all changed with Frabill’s All Purpose Task Glove. Wearing these, I can finesse fish with an ultra-light rod and still feel a bite. And when it’s time to dunk my hand down the hole to land a lunker walleye, I know my hand will come back warm and dry…along with the fish.
